As an entertainment promoter, a Nashville recording artist and leader of his band, Low Low Chariot, JD Sutphin is no stranger to the spotlight. For him, however, it’s all about using his position to build awareness for great causes and organizations. His main focus, Big Lick Entertainment puts on many events throughout the year, with about 90% of them benefiting local charities, such as Center in the Square. Including notable events like Big Lick Downtown Countdown, Virginia’s largest NYE celebration as well as concert series Flat Pickin’ Fridays in Botetourt plus one of the largest comic conventions of the southeast region, Big Lick Comic Con at the Berglund Center. Big Lick Entertainment also functions as a marketing agency and business consultant group with clients from in and around southwest Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina, and South Carolina. JD is a multiple business owner as he also co-owns the Woodland Place, a wedding and event venue in Vinton and Big Lick Comics, one of Virginia’s largest comic book stores. JD has achieved numerous Platinum, Gold and Silver awards in Roanoker Magazine in 2022 as Star of the Star City, Best Influencer and Most Savvy Entrepreneur. He counts his best achievement however as father to his 6 year old son, Cash Sutphin and husband to his wife of 13 years, Samantha.
